How we make money

When a clinician turns on “Open to opportunities” and a placement follows, MedStaff Nationwide earns a recruiting fee from the employer, and that fee funds this site.

If you turn this on, the preferences and contact details you enter go to MedStaff Nationwide, a recruiting firm with the same owner as Midnight Census. We do not pass them to other recruiters or to employers. You can see every contact and turn this off at any time. If Midnight Census is ever sold, your settings carry over to the new owner under these terms and we will tell you before that happens.

The same person owns Midnight Census and MedStaff Nationwide, a physician and advanced practice recruiting firm. There is no separate staff between the two. That is why the separation below is built into the database rather than into a policy.

• We do not charge clinicians.
• We do not sell compensation data.
• We do not sell employer-facing wage products, and there are no employer accounts.
• We do not pass them to other recruiters or to employers.

No referral, recruiter, or revenue information is an input to any number, ranking, or filter on this site. The pay data and the referral settings live in separate databases with separate permissions: the code that computes a figure cannot read who opted in, and the recruiting side cannot read a salary row. A test in our build checks this every time the code changes. The recruiting side sees only the preferences a clinician chose to share, and only when a search falls inside them.
